Ben Simmons Revealed He BLEW OFF Free Throw Practice During The Infamous Hawks Playoff Series, And He Proved Once Again That He's The SOFTEST Philly Star Of All Time

Back in 2021, the Sixers were the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, and everything was shaping up for a deep playoff run, if not a championship run. But the only thing holding the Sixers back was the fact that Ben Simmons was going through one of the biggest mental collapses I've ever seen on a basketball court.
Throughout the playoffs, opposing teams started to employ the "Hack-A-Ben" strategy because they knew Ben Simmons couldn't shoot for shit. He had been in the league for 5 fucking years, and not once did he take any strides in developing a jumpshot (even though that was the only thing keeping him from being one of the best all-around players in league history).
The Sixers -- knowing that other teams weren't gonna stop putting him on the foul line -- tried to help out their star point guard by coordinating free throw practices with him. And according to Doc Rivers, they had one scheduled before Game 6 of the 2021 Hawks playoff series. Ben Simmons, however, cancelled it. That scumbag.
"Sometimes, for me, I just need my space." - Ben Simmons
That was his rationale for bailing on practice before a playoff elimination game.
Sure enough, the Sixers went on to play in a back-and-forth Game 7. And he had a chance to tie the game late by attacking the rim for a wide open dunk, but he inexplicably passed the ball away as he was right under the hoop. It is one of the more infamous moments in my 20 years of watching Sixers basketball. I still have no idea why he passed instead of taking the easiest two points of his entire fucking life.

The only explanation is that he was terrified of shooting because he didn't wanna risk getting fouled on the way up. He didn't want the possibility of having to go to the charity stripe in a late game situation. In fact, he only took three shots TOTAL in the 4th quarter of that series. He completely faded away when it mattered most because he had zero confidence in his offensive game.
Ya gotta think that some free throw practice would've helped him out…
And for Simmons to disparage Philly fans in that clip just because they boo'd Santa…are you delusional, my guy? Do you not remember what the crowd was like when you were struggling to shoot free throws? It was the most supportive I've ever heard a Philly crowd ever. Except maybe for the time we gave that bum Trea Turner a standing ovation. That's up there, too. But the point still stands.
I was at one of the playoff games in Philly that postseason. People were cheering like crazy every time Ben Simmons was sent to the line. Nobody wanted him to succeed more than we did. But in his mind, he was a victim of the angry Philly sports mob. Cry me a fucking river, dude.
I don't know if I'll ever hate an athlete more than I hate this guy. So much wasted talent. And now he's spewing so much utter bullshit. I really wish he would just go back to fishing and quit bothering people.
