Did The Rays Scoreboard Prematurely Congratulate The Brewers On Winning The World Series After Cooper Pratt's Go-Ahead Home Run? It Looks Like It!
I think I speak for a lot of baseball fans when I say that we thought this series was OVA after Cooper Pratt had his moment in the 12th and hit the go-ahead homer to put Milwaukee up 3-2. We thought this thing was done and over, we were ready for a locker room celebration and for Pat Murphy to pull out a note from Bob Uecker. Everyone in the world thought that the Brewers had just won their first World Series....including the game day presentation team for the Tampa Bay Rays it seems? Take a look at the video below of the ballpark after Pratt's home run and tell me what is on the big screen out there in right field.

My god! That says "CHAMPIONS!" with a Brewers logo underneath! We had a premature celebration in The Trop! Someone either lost track of what was going on or hit the wrong button and gave us a sneak preview of what it could look like if the Brewers close it out. It's amazing that the baseball gods didn't punish them for this, a premature crowning is a tough look. You'd expect this in their home ballpark, but this is on the road. So what that it's a 70/30 split for Brewers and Rays fans down there, they're still the road team but somehow they are getting the love as the road team. It had to be someone hitting the wrong button, but man what a bad time for that. Rays fans have to think they're going to get swept out of there and they look up before the game is over to see "CHAMPIONS" with the other logo flashing on their big board, tough look for whoever pressed that button when they weren't supposed to.
