Plot Twist To The Plot Twist: Brian Scalabrine Has No Idea What He's Talking About, And Jaylen Brown Never Demanded A Trade
It's been months now since Jaylen Brown was traded to Philadelphia, and Boston fans are still so desperate to find any explanation at all as to why the Celtics would be so idiotic to make that move. It didn't make sense then, it doesn't make sense now, and it may never make sense in the future. It was a horrible decision by Brad Stevens, and Boston fans just can't comprehend the idea that maybe sometimes they have dumbasses making decisions for their favorite teams.
So when Brian Scalabrine came along yesterday with some half-baked "report" that Jaylen Brown actually went to the organization with an ultimatum to either meet his list of demands, or trade him? Well naturally, the bozos like Greenie of the world ate it up. There it was! That was the answer they've been searching for. Finally, that missing piece to the puzzle to explain this totally moronic move. Brad Stevens isn't an idiot, he was just held hostage by Jaylen Brown and refused to give in.
Except for the fact that didn't happen, and Brian Scalabrine had to tuck his tail between his legs just a few hours later.
"Technically, he didn't demand to be traded"
Giphy Images."I have no idea. I don't know what the ultimatum was, or the demands or whatever it was. So technically, he did not demand to be traded. It was "do these things right here, or else"."
Giphy Images."I haven't gotten to the bottom of all that. I didn't even know this was gonna be a thing".

Hooooooly walk back.
Scal went from "my understanding of this thing is that he demanded to be traded", to then admitting he has no idea what he's talking about. And then he had the audacity to play it off as if he was just chatting it up with the fellas instead of reporting on the biggest lamb chop (with gravy) in the NBA right now.
Now do I think Brian Scalabrine would go ahead and just completely make all that up out of thin air? Of course not. I'm sure that somebody told him something that was somewhere along those lines, and then he just filled in the rest of the story for himself. But that's where you need to have some more self-awareness. If you're not a guy who is known for breaking stories like this, there is probably a good reason for that. That's not your lane. I know everybody wants to think their local guys know what they're talking about more than the national guys, but there's a reason why Shams exists. But at least Celtics fans had a fun 5-6 hours of believing there was actually a rational reason behind the trade.
