Will Stein Perfectly And Clearly Shut Down All The Idiotic Rumors That He's Leaving Kentucky After Turning Us Into A Top-10 Team In Year 1
These are just a few of the examples of things I've seen on the Internet. People basically begging Will Stein to leave Kentucky. Everyone saying Will Stein won't stick around Kentucky because 'it's Kentucky.' I remind you, Indiana won a national title last year. With NIL, transfer portal, all that stuff there's parity all over the place and you can win anywhere. More proof: Will Stein has Kentucky as a top-10 team in the country right now in year 1.
And, to be fair, I saw Brandon Walker say this as a bold take. It wasn't a prediction but people ran with it because he's the number 1 college football media personality
And ever since then it's been a firestorm of Will Stein leaving stuff. Well, he was asked directly about it last night and he couldn't have shut it down in a better way:

Yeah, it's insane that he even had to answer this. I don't know how we got to this world where we can't just watch a season without talking about where a player is leaving for or a coaching leaving for and there's 5 weeks left in the regular season. This isn't like past bowl season and you start to get the rumors. It's also year 1 where Will Stein came home, coaching the place he loves more than anything. And I'll say this. I'll also now be sick of I see someone else in that seat like Stein was. He's made for this program.
He's going to get paid at Kentucky. It's not like money should ever be a concern here. He's already recruiting at an elite level, so that's gone. Of course a job like Texas is 'better' than Kentucky, but it's no guarantee you win there vs here. So that should do it. Will Stein ain't leaving. He's not leaving after year 1. My guess is he'll eventually leave for the NFL before a college. But I'm defending the wall here. I'm going to say my guy is staying here for years to come. He's 37, back home, coaching his favorite school in the world. Gonna be a hell of a run.
