The NFL Refuses To Fix Their Giant Officiating Problem And The Product Just Gets Worse And Worse

Pretty big game in Detroit today. As the Vikings keep winning and the Bears pulled one out against New England on Thursday, the loser of this game would sit in the cellar of a very good NFC North. You win and you're still firmly in the hunt for the division. Of course what at one point was a very fun game, turned into a ref filled catastrophe with some of the worst calls you'll ever see.

Complaining about the refs commonly falls on deaf ears accompanied by the smallest violin ever played, but what the fuck man? How is Green Bay constantly called for the worst roughing the passer penalties imaginable? Remember this gem from last week.

Well, apparently getting pushed into the QB by the defender is your fault.

I genuinely would like to know what the defender is supposed to do here? You want him to evaporate into thin air the moment the QB releases the ball?

This intentional grounding might be the worst of them all. Tucker Kraft is clearly in the vicinity of the throw. There's a ref right there, he even acknowledges Kraft. This is not Intentional grounding every single time. Instead it turned what would have been 2nd and 10 to 2nd and 21, ruining the drive.

Glad it was called both ways at least oh wait.

This one the ref was just embarrassed he got kicked in the stomach and took it out on the Packers for no other reason. The refs told LaFleur the play was obviously dead even though a whistle was never blown. St. Brown got up and tried to keep going so Wyatt tackled him. Again, the ref was just embarrassed.

And somehow this doesn't get called? Kraft gets fucking rocked by the dirtiest player in the sport Brian Branch. Nothing. I'm fine with the no-call if you don't call anything above, but of course that's not what happened.

Listen the Packers did enough on their own to lose this game. Poor execution in the red zone aided by dogshit play calls from LaFleur don't help. This Josh Jacobs drop on a perfectly thrown ball on 3rd down was killer.

Trey Smack missed multiple kicks inside of 40. They went offsides on 3rd down late as the Lions were trying to bleed the clock. They did plenty to lose it on their own, but then you have the officials take matters into their own hands. This is every week and nothing changes. What's the point of the sky judge if they're not going to overturn these obvious bad calls? Shouldn't the point be to buzz down and fix this shit so we can play football? Don't you want your product to get better? I don't get it. Even more frustrating is how Love never gets any of these roughing the passer calls on him despite being the most hit QB in the league.

Could've been 5-2 heading into a short week home game against a Carolina team that just got obliterated by the Bucs. Now you're 4-3 in that spot where weird shit always happens on a Thursday night. Not good.
