“It’s No Beef, But It Might Be Little Lamb Chops And Some Gravy" - Jaylen Brown Appears To Be Hellbent On Continuing To Try And Beef With Jayson Tatum

In the same way you knew that once Jaylen Brown put the cap emoji in the comment section of Bleacher Report's IG that it was going to be something Tatum was asked about, the same is true following Tatum's comments on everything from last night.

As I've said in pretty much every blog I've written when it comes to this topic, the whole thing just makes me sad. The fact that this is happening in the first place is my nightmare. But here's what I knew. I knew that following Tatum's comments, there was a 0.0% chance that the situation was over. Far from it. All it meant was we were going to the next step, which was Jaylen Brown's response to Tatum's response. So many responses to responses about responses, my head is spinning.

Why. What is the point of this? Tatum's comments last night were calm, measured, and certainly made it seem like all the animosity in this situation is coming from one particular side. He welcomed the opportunity to have a conversation and hash whatever ill will there is privately. So what's the response from Jaylen? To what, try and beef more through the media? Come on. Can we maybe try something else? Anything else. There's no reason to continue to feed the flames like this and take more shots. Has a good PR team? Might be some lamb chops and gravy? Jaylen, please, I am begging.

I get it, fans love drama, so naturally NBA Twitter/the media is going crazy and loving this drama. Anything to hate on Jayson Tatum I guess, but after hearing Tatum's side and where he stands, this whole act feels tired at this point. I think it's safe to say there's clearly real pain there for Jaylen, and that bums me out. It's the exact opposite of what I always wanted for the Jays.

But at this point, it's starting to get beyond lame. Especially with things being so one-sided. One guy is showing love and appreciation while making it very clear he doesn't want to beef because there is no beef, and the other guy keeps trying to beef. It's both exhausting and unfortunate.

Now that Tatum gave his long and thoughtful answer, I think from here on out he needs to just "next question" this entire thing. If this is how Jaylen is going to continue to act online and with the media, then just give any question you get moving forward a "no comment" and keep it moving. That's sad, but at this point Tatum and the Celtics have a season to worry about and focus on.

But yeah, November 10th should be fun. Sigh.
