"This Ain't No Fucking Shaq And Kobe. There's No Beef." - Jayson Tatum Had The Perfect Response To Jaylen Brown Calling Him A Liar On Instagram

As much as I desperately want to, there is simply no ignoring the current nuclear war happening between Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. I write it that way, because that's what happened. When Jaylen went into Bleacher Report's IG comments and dropped the hat emoji, essentially calling Tatum a liar, that was it. All hell had officially broken loose. It sucks, it makes me sad, but it happened and it's one of the biggest storylines of the opening week of the NBA season.

Given tonight was the first opportunity for Tatum to be asked about it, all of the drama added another layer to what was already a very, very important game for the Celtics to win (which they did, more on this in a second). I think we were all anticipating what Tatum would do or say when it eventually came up, even though we all know he's the gold standard in PR responses. Would he finally punch back? Would he deflect? Would he open up and talk about everything? It was all on the table as far as I'm concerned.

As expected, it came up in his postgame presser, and I thought his answer was perfect

First off, I have no comment on Tatum's outfit. I am far too poor and far too old to even try and weigh in on anything fashion related. I know I couldn't pull something like that off, but then again I am not Jayson Tatum.

In terms of the response? I see this as someone being the adult in the room. Make no mistake, there were some return punches in there. It's not like he completely deflected or didn't comment on things. He's right, they are too old for all the podcast/internet drama. I think this is a good example of the difference there is between Tatum and Brown as people. That life, isn't really appealing to Tatum or something he participates in. With Jaylen, he's VERY online. He feeds the beast. He knew what that comment was going to cause, he knew it was public. Tatum's right, if there's beef or animosity coming from Jaylen's side, pick up the phone and have a conversation, rather than causing this nuclear war on the internet/in the media. I think that's a fair thing to ask for, no?

It was also noticeable that Tatum said he called and texted when things first happened, because I'm not sure that's the same story that was being told by Jaylen, which is obviously interesting. Who's lying? Given how open and honest Tatum came off in that response, I'm having a hard time believing everything we just heard is some sort of act or lie.

Do I wish we could finally put this all to bed? Definitely. But this isn't my first time around the block. This will probably result in another response from Jaylen and around and around we'll go. Then the first game in November will be here and it'll be the whole song and dance all over again. As I continue to say, it breaks my heart.

Before Tatum stepped to the podium and answered this question, he spent the previous 2.5 hours kicking the absolute shit out of the defending champs. After days of unless slander given his beyond disgusting stinker in the opener, just like he does every other time his back is up against the wall and he's facing generational slander. He dominates

Naturally, the trolls have gone back in hiding. Yet another example of how broken brained people can be when it comes to Jayson Tatum. The things being said after one game, pathetic. The guy I watched in this win looked exactly like the 1st Team All NBA wing that is one of the best basketball players on the planet. Dagger after dagger right in the Knicks eyeball. The moment called for Tatum to rise to the occasion and put the team on his back, and that's what he did. Feels great to have him back.
