Don't Look Now, But Angel Reese Is Two Wins Away From Winning The WNBA Finals, And She's Drawing A RECORD Television Audience In The Process

One of the most hated figures in all of sports right now is on quite the heater.

Less than seven months after being traded from Chicago to Atlanta, Angel Reese has put the Dream in the driver's seat to win their first ever WNBA championship. The franchise hadn't made it to the Finals in 13 years, but the Bayou Barbie has them primed to win it all in her first season with the team.

Listen, I know she hasn't finished the job yet. I also know the president of our company hates her fucking guts. But she deserves some credit, man. For all the slander she's gotten for being a "me-bounder" or a "brick layer," she's making a shit-ton of history this postseason. And if she were to cap it off with a ring, her overall basketball resume would be ABSURD:

NCAA National Champion. NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player. First Team All-American. WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. WNBA Champion. And most likely WNBA Finals MVP.

That's pretty bananas.

And she's not only making history on the court, guys. She's making history in the fucking ratings. Game 1 of the Finals was the most-watched Game 1 in WNBA history. I imagine similar history will be made for Games 2 and 3 when those ratings come out, too. And it's not like she's going up against Caitlin Clark or anything. Angel is the biggest star in this series. She is the draw. Hands down.

Kinda makes you think back to this soundbyte that she gave awhile ago…

She was clowned RELENTLESSLY for saying that people weren't watching the league solely because of Caitlin Clark, who I mentioned earlier. People LOATHED Angel Reese for even insinuating that she played a role in the league's popularity spike. They said that she had zero self-awareness. That she made everything about her.

But if she holds up that championship trophy in one of the highest-rated Finals that the league has ever seen, then everything really is about her…right?

Now, am I writing this because I still have hope that we could book her on Mostly Sports? Partially. But I mean everything I say here.

I truly am pulling for her to finish off the job. And if she does, I think a lot of people might be owing her an apology.
