There Is Only One Correct Choice For The Next James Bond Between Callum Turner, Josh O’Connor, and Jack Lowden As Final Auditions Are Reportedly Underway
Getty Images.I feel like we've been talking about who the next James Bond is going to be for a decade now. 'No Time To Die' came out in 2021 and officially put an end to the Daniel Craig era, and by that I mean they blew his version of James Bond sky high via a missile.

Daniel Craig made sure those guys couldn't bother him again with this role.
Well, it seems FINALLY we're in the endgame here with three finalists confirmed to be screen testing for the role —Callum Turner, Josh O'Connor, and Jack Lowden.
(Hollywood Reporter) Tomorrow never dies. But for all actors except one, the dream of being the next James Bond will likely die this week.
And that is due to — finally! — a very select group of actors getting in front of cameras to screen test for the role of British agent 007.According to several sources, Callum Turner, who recently starred in the rom-com One Night Only, and Slow Horses actor Jack Lowden are said to be in the mix for the screen tests, which are taking place in London this weekend. They could begin as early as Friday, according to two sources.
It is unclear who else may be testing. Sources said at least three actors are part of the action but another source says up to five may be putting on the tux to see how it fits. Jack O’Connell (Sinners) was rumored to initially be in the mix, but that is apparently not the case, according to sources. And despite some reports, Euphoria and Frankenstein star Jacob Elordi is not testing.
The casting for Bond had been rumored for years with names like Jacob Elordi and Theo James rumored or hoped for by fans, but these are the actual finalists. For me there's a clear winner here, but let's sift through it.
First we'll talk Callum Turner. I think if they pick this guy to be the next James Bond then they might as well fold the franchise. I understand this is the first James Bond not under control by the Broccoli family so it's anyone's guess what they're looking for, but it can't be this.
Gerome Defrance. Getty Images. You want to make him one of the villains? Sure. You want Callum to be another agent in MI6 that's fine. Just don't make this guy 007. Not that I'm some expert in acting, but Callum Turner is a dog shit actor. Whenever he's in something it almost feels like he felt bad that he was doing nothing at home while his wife Dua Lipa was out being a global superstar.

I suppose the only good thing that would come of Turner being the guy is that Dua Lipa would do the intro song and maybe play a Bond Girl?

Still not enough to make this guy James Bond.
Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin. Getty Images.Next up, Josh O'Connor. I'm sorry to Josh, but come on, this can't be James Bond.
Gareth Cattermole. Getty Images. It's unfortunate because he's a really good actor and probably the best of the bunch here in that department, but you gotta have the look. This ain't it.
Swan Gallet. Getty Images. Now I will say, O'Connor playing a supporting character like the tech guy Q would kinda work, but again, this can't be James Bond.

That leaves us with in my mind the clear cut winner, Jack Lowden.
Joe Maher/BAFTA. Getty Images.Of the three names I've listed Jack is probably the least notable, but that's okay. Daniel Craig was a fucking nobody when they chose him to be the guy. People HATED the decision to pick him calling him too blonde and not suave enough. Turned out okay I'd say.
Jack is best known for his River Cartwright character in the Apple TV show 'Slow Horses' where he plays a fuck up British spy for MI5. If anything the knock on Lowden is people might not take him well as a serious spy character. That's okay because 1) actors are meant to play a variety of roles 2) not that many people watch 'Slow Horses' as they should. I'm only a few episodes into the show (that's on me) but from everyone I hear talk about the show and his character, this is a perfect fit.
We're unsure if there are a few mystery actors in the running here, but if it's just the three I mentioned there is only one right answer, Jack Lowden.
Now for the next Bond girl I present to you the wonderful Michelle Keegan, the star of the 2024 mini-series 'Fool Me Once.'
