Dumbest Lie Ever Told - Roger Goodell Is Trying To Say The Number Of Flags Thrown Isn't The Refs Fault And Thinks 'Officiating Has Improved'
[Source] - “Number of fouls can’t be an evaluation of officiating, necessarily,” Goodell said. “Because we don’t commit the fouls, right? The officials are there to call the fouls, when they exist. So I think when you evaluate officiating, you don’t just look at total number of fouls. I think that’s an inappropriate way to approach it.”
Goodell said he believes officiating has improved and the league is continuing to get more calls right.
Just to be clear, we are talking about these guys:
Of course there are dumb teams out there. There are teams that commit false starts and delay of games and stupid things like that. But we also live in a world where every underthrown ball is a flag for defensive pass interference. Every sack you hold your breath that it's not the softest roughing the passer call coming. It usually is. You can't just hit people anymore without it being a personal foul. Sometimes the refs call holding when nothing is there and let shit go. There's no flow or anything that is the same from one week to another week or even one game to the next one you flip over to.
It's why I'm all for this:
We see it with the UFL and the ACC and Big 10 now. Let us hear what is being discussed on replay because half the time we're still lost when the ref makes a call. There's just far too many bad calls, I won't let Goodell sit here and say they are doing a better job. No one knows what a foul is! No one knows what a roughing the passer is. The pass interference might be the most annoying. We can't be rewarding guys for not being able to make a 30-yard pass.
It's a line in the sand now. It's people with brains and eyes vs refs and Goodell. I know what side I'm on.
