The Heat Couldn’t Have Asked for a Better Start to the Season Than Getting Blown Out by 25 at Home

The Miami Heat could not have asked for a better start to the Giannis era. The Heat got shit pumped by 25 points at home and everyone is losing their mind, everyone except for me, because unlike the casual headline reading sports fan, I have a brain.

I know what a winning basketball team looks like. I know you can’t make season long predictions after game one of an eighty two game season. People forget LeBron lost his first game as a member of the Miami Heat. October 26, 2010, LeBron and the Heat took a trip to Boston and lost 88-80. In that game Bron had 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assist. What’d Giannis do in his debut? 35 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist. The Miami Heat shot 24% from deep. If you know basketball you know shooting comes in waves. Sometimes you can't miss, sometimes you can't hit the side of a barn. The three's will start falling, I'm not overreacting to one poor shooting night. Klay, Haraway Jr, Wiggins, and everyone else will figure it out as the season goes on.

But I don’t care about the stats!! I care about the loss.

I care about keeping this team hungry. I want this team to feel the embarrassment of losing like that at home. It builds character. It builds camaraderie. Winning cultures are built in losing. I’m not crazy I just know ball. The last thing this team needed was to start 10-0 and have the media sucking our dick like a popsicle on a hot summer day. Instead, I want what is happening right now. The media can't stop talking about how bad this team is, how there's no shooters, Bam needs to step up! First round exit in the East! FEED ME ALL THE BULLETIN BOARD MATERIAL AFTER GAME ONE. INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS WITH A HOT SPOON AND BELT AROUND MY ARM. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT COACH PAT AND SPO WANT. SO PLEASE BY ALL MEANS KEEP FEEDING THIS FUCKING BEAST.

Last night was the perfect start for the Miami Heat.
