Tom Izzo Shut Down Michigan State Fans Chanting "Fuck Dan Hurley" At America's Best College Basketball Coach
Dan Hurley is used to hearing chants like this. I don't know if he's used to an opposing coach shutting them down so quickly.
It's college basketball exhibition season. And because he's an absolute demon, Dan Hurley goes and schedules games like Michigan State at East Lansing to help his team get ready for the season.
And no surprise, the Michigan State fans were ready.
Less than four minutes in, the student section started the "Fuck Dan Hurley" chant. You hear plenty during the Big East schedule, where opposing fans take out their jealousy of UConn's elite basketball program by using foul language when addressing America's best basketball coach. Those chants - at places like Creighton and Providence - can go on for a while.
Tom Izzo was having none of it.

Izzo legit jumped off the bench and said "No more" to the wildlings in the Izzone.
And because they respect Izzo so much, they quickly obliged.
The fans were still getting after him at halftime, without the salty language, and Hurley was giving it back.

"As much as they were mean to me - and rightfully so - we root for Michigan State."
Some credit to Izzo for shutting it down in his own building.
But really, credit to the Izzone Fans. Reminder…this game doesn't count. Good job, Michigan State fans, for bringing it on a Tuesday Night. Clearly, Hurley was into it.
Hurley was in a good mood after the game, and no wonder - his team beat MSU in East Lansing without Braylon Mullins. They look like a legit Final Four contender. Again.
UConn will be good. And it won't be the last time he hears those chants this season. But it might be the last time an opposing coach jumps off the bench to stop them so quickly.
P.S.
Solo Ball, the all-world guard who was supposed to be out all year with a wrist issue, is probably back in January.
