Jalen Hurts Is OUT For The Season With Blood Clots In His Lungs, Thanks To The Total Incompetence From The Eagles Organization

Someone needs to be fucking fired, man.

The Jalen Hurts blood clot situation has gotten infinitely worse, as it was revealed today that he has multiple blood clots in his lungs. I'm not a doctor, and I also don't know the severity of this particular situation with Hurts. I just know that Chris Bosh had to retire from the game of basketball because he had blood clots in his lungs, and for him, it was life-threatening.

So this goes far beyond football. I'm not even focused on Jalen Hurts the quarterback or the competitor. I'm focused on Jalen Hurts the man. This is some scary, real-life shit. And it's completely on the Eagles organization for allowing it to get to this point.

For those not familiar with the story, Jalen Hurts reported some soreness in his calf following the Eagles' loss to the Rams a couple weeks back. He was evaluated. He then flew to London for the Eagles' game against the Jaguars, and it was in London where he received an ultrasound that showed he had a blood clot in his leg. The doctors said that activity and mobility would actually be good for the blood clot, so they cleared him to play in the game against Jacksonville. He played the full four quarters and took a flight back to Philadelphia afterwards. And in the days that followed, it was announced that the blood clot had moved and Hurts would be placed on IR.

Again, I'm not a fucking doctor, but I think we all know that a transatlantic flight is maybe the WORST thing for someone with blood clots. The elevation. The change in pressure. Everything.

And today, the most damning part of this story was reported by Tom Pelissero, who claims that Jalen Hurts was instructed NOT TO SLEEP once he was diagnosed with the blood clot in London. Out of an abundance of caution, it was better for him to stay awake for 36 hours before playing a game in the National Football League. I may be a dumbass, but if you're telling your franchise quarterback that he shouldn't sleep the night before a game, odds are he *probably* shouldn't be cleared to fucking play.

Forget about the blood clot for a second. Putting a player out there on the field whose brain is probably scrambled after pulling an all-nighter is fucking absurd! For a league that preaches player safety, how in the world is that safe?? As much as Jalen's physical status was in question before the game, his mental status had to have been of even higher concern. One poor decision could've led to a catastrophic injury.

But I guess it doesn't matter anymore. Jalen Hurts may never play football again regardless. At the very least, he won't be playing football again this year. And the last image of Jalen Hurts this season will be him leading us on a game-winning drive in London, with a blood clot in his leg after a night of no sleep, and then Nick Sirianni fucked it up and lost us the football game.

It fucking sucks. Prayers up to Jalen Hurts. I truly hope he can make a full recovery. This is awful, awful news.
