The Eagles Might Legitimately Not Be Able To Field A Team This Weekend With So Many Players Out With Injuries

The Eagles put out this injury report yesterday where you can see that damn near half the entire roster was listed.

That's not even including Lane Johnson, who is still technically on the roster despite being retired. There are plenty of names on there who you'd expect to see. But so many names that you may have missed the fact that Jalen Hurts was listed with a calf injury. Weird, because there didn't seem to be anything that has happened to his calf over the last few games. He was still able to practice, so maybe it's not that big of a deal.

WRONG.

I know this may come as a shocker to some, but I didn't go to medical school. So I don't really know what the deal is with a superficial blood clot compared to a normal one. I'm guessing this just means that they aren't worried about any potentially life-threatening scenarios here, so it's not really that big of a deal. But still big enough of a deal to keep him out of the game on Sunday.

So now you have an Eagles team coming off of 3 straight losses. They lost Lane Johnson to retirement. They traded Cam Jurgens. Landon Dickerson has been injured, so who knows how ready he'll be for Sunday. Saquon Barkley hasn't practiced. Will Shipley is out. Tank Bigsby is on IR. DeVonta Smith hasn't practice. And now the ball is going to be in the hands of Tanner McKee as QB1 this weekend.

At some point you just have to look at all these injuries as a sign. It's like it's the Football Gods' way of telling everybody that it's over. The NFC East is such a joke this year that somehow the Eagles could still manage to go out and win the division. That would put Nick Sirianni in the playoffs for the 6th straight year, and it would save his job. The Football Gods know he doesn't deserve to keep his job, so they are making sure this team is as decimated as possible. They barely have just enough guys left to field a team at this point. A couple more injuries and they would have to forfeit.

P.S. -- Things seem to be going great in the locker room, too.
