All Class – Western Kentucky Football Players Paid Respects to Sam Houston's Cheerleaders (After Beating Sam Houston)

Tip of the cap to the Hilltoppers. That was a classy move. Not enough people pay respect to the opposing team's cheerleaders after games. As if the cheerleaders aren't THE engine that drives any raucous college football fan base on a Wednesday night in Huntsville, Texas.

Sam Houston really sets their team up for failure here. Are home cheerleaders always that close to the opposing sideline? So close that the away team will obviously be chatting them up all game long? Maybe I just haven't been paying attention. Or aren't straight enough to notice. But the cheerleading industry really has been throttled by the internet, hasn't it? Before the internet, if you wanted to see hot women in semi-revealing clothing, you had to go to the football game. That's why the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders were such a big deal. People drove from across Texas not only to watch Cowboys football, but also for boners.

Physical pornography existed back then too. But you get my point. It was harder to come by. Nowadays, cheerleaders seem like an afterthought. They aren't even the most half-naked women at football games anymore.

Anyways, there were only a couple of problems with Western Kentucky's approach (hitting on cheerleaders-wise). For starters, they chose to play football at Western Kentucky. Sure, it's a formidable G6 program. They've had a handful of exciting offenses over the years. They've produced some NFL talent – Bailey Zappe, Malachi Corley, Tyler Higbee, Jack Doyle, among other less notable players. Including a 2nd-round bust (no pun intended) in Chargers offensive lineman Forrest Lamp.

Western Kentucky also has fantastic style. They do one of my favorite uniform-related things in college football, which is giving their players position-based helmet logos. Where the Hilltopper mascot, Big Red, is playing a position.

But cheerleaders aren't stupid. They're very smart and have great personalities. They know there's a snowball's chance in hell that a Western Kentucky player is going to make the league. Western Kentucky players won't get them anywhere. Now if a Georgia Bulldog introduces himself after a game, that's a player you take a flier on. You give him your number, set up a date, and if you're lucky, you might end up an NFL WAG.

Secondly, Western Kentucky did beat Sam Houston last night… but the score was 16-3.

Over half their points were scored by the kicker. If anybody on Western Kentucky was going to get any action last night, it was this big dick menace right here.

To be fair, I did see Western Kentucky's #2, Tony Newsome Jr., in on the postgame cheerleader festivities. He had an interception last night. And if I have my bearings right, he appears to have gone and celebrated about 10 yards away from the Sam Houston cheerleaders.

That's a heady move, Tony. But still… idk if a single interception vs. Sam Houston on a Wednesday night in October is dropping skirts.

Good effort, Western Kentucky. Great road win to improve to 3-4. Good job showing respect to the opposing cheerleaders. I'm almost certain it will amount to nothing, but you might still have a better chance with them than anyone on Sam Houston (1-5). They've only see Western Kentucky win. Those cheerleaders are forced to watch Sam Houston lose every week. That's gotta be a turn-off.
