Kristaps Porzingis Took To Twitter To Address His Mystery Illness And Let The World Know He Does NOT Have HIV Or AIDS
Thearon W. Henderson. Getty Images.Earlier this week, there was word out of the Bay Area that when it came to Kristaps Porzingis, the Warriors reportedly had no idea where he was, what was going on with his health, or when he'd be back ready to play.ย
A bit of a bizarre report for many reasons. First, how would they not know where he is? Second, why did they offer him the extension if his health issues were still unresolved? Third and most importantly, is he OK?ย
Since that initial report earlier in the week, there hadn't really been too many updates around his status. Today, KP took to Twitter to address everything himself
Hello people, I'm working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I'm getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I'll be feeling great again soon. It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can't exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it ๐ช๐ผ Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support ๐๐ผ
I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I'm in the best hands. So everyone can relax now ๐๐๐ผ and I donโt have hiv or aids.
That second tweet?!?!?
Giphy Images. You see, because the internet is the worst, the longstanding internet rumor was that KP was actually dealing with HIV/AIDs and the NBA just didn't want to come out and say it. Pretty insane to speculate, and even more insane that KP not only knew about those rumors, but he flat-out called them out in his tweets. That was a wild ride to read. But given his absence and the first tweet basically being like "nobody knows what the deal is", had he said nothing, you know those rumors would have gotten even worse. So I suppose it's good that he nipped it in the bud? Still crazy to hear a player address and then shut down stupid NBA Twitter rumors.ย

So if it's not POTS, and it isn't HIV/AIDs, then what the hell is going on? How are the best and brightest medical minds in the country unable to figure this out? None of the specialists in Boston could do it, and that's basically the medical capital of the country. Now no Bay Area doctors have a clue either?ย
Giphy Images.I'm not even talking about from a basketball standpoint. I'm talking about his normal real-life standpoint. It's pretty scary that this first started showing up in April of 2025, and now in October of 2026 they still have no clue what's going on. Isn't this what AI was supposed to solve? Have they considered just firing up ChatGPT or whatever and seeing what it says, since all of these experts clearly can't figure it out?
Also, why has no one called this doctor?

Now while this isn't exactly the best update you may have been hoping for as a Warror fan with the season a week away, the good news is at least KP doesn't have HIV/AIDs. We have no idea when we may see him again on a basketball court which is a bit problematic, but I say take that as a win.ย
And hey, you'll always have these moments!
