Don't Worry, Guys. At Least Howie Roseman Was Super Pissed On The Sideline After Yesterday's Eagles Loss

There's one guy in this city right now who could stop that from happening, and his name is Howie Roseman.
Clearly he's pissed. But is he going to do anything about it? Are the Eagles going to fire Nick Sirianni? Maybe at some point this year, but certainly not soon enough.
But even if you fire Nick Sirianni, here is the conundrum the Eagles have found themselves in. This team will never be able to hire an elite head coach as long as Howie Roseman has all the power over the roster. I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing. Howie Roseman has turned the Eagles into one of the most successful franchises in pro sports. Over the last 10 years they have played for 3 Super Bowls, and won 2 of them. There are so many teams out there that can't even sniff that level of success. So I'm not saying that Howie Roseman doesn't deserve to have all that power.
But that's how they have gotten themselves into this cycle. Whenever Nick Sirianni gets fired this year, it will be the 2nd time the Eagles have won a Super Bowl and the head coach of that team was no longer employed by the end of 3 seasons later. Doug Pederson won a Super Bowl in 2017, he was fired during the 2020 season. Nick Sirianni won a Super Bowl in 2024, and it looks like he might not make it to 2027. Because the Eagles can't hire a great head coach. The Eagles didn't set their sights on hiring Doug Pederson. Nick Sirianni wasn't their top option. Those are the guys the team ended up hiring, but not before others were taken off the board. And now both of them having "Super Bowl winning head coach" next to their name.
That's because Howie Roseman can build a roster which is capable of overcoming below-average coaching. What he's not able to do is hire a head coach who is able to overcome a below-average roster. The Eagles will never have a dynasty because they don't have a head coach who can weather the storm. When the train starts to go off the tracks just a little bit, it ends up in disaster.
So it's just cyclical. Fire the coach, rebuild, hire a great offensive coordinator, win a Super Bowl, train goes off the tracks, fire the coach, rinse & repeat. It is what it is. But Howie Roseman shouldn't be allowed to look that pissed off on the sideline when he's literally the one guy who can put an end to this, but won't.
Oh, and speaking of dumbasses who won't get fired nearly soon enough…
