Undrafted Rookie Quarterback Jalon Daniels Is Best Story In NFL Right Now
Jalon Daniels went undrafted out of Kansas this past April. His name wasn't called in seven rounds despite six years as the Kansas Jayhawks Quarterback. But draft pundits where high on him as an undrafted rookie signing.
He had a great camp and showed out in the preseason and earned the QB2 job over longtime NFL backup Jake Browning.
Every time he came in the game in the pre-season, there was a spark. And after his first start had it's fair share of ups and downs on Sunday, the Bucs were in the game the whole time.
And when he got the chance for his second career start, on a short week, against a team a lot of pundits picked to win the NFC (not me, I didn't have them in the playoffs), he showed out.
He got the post-game interview and his mom, who they rudely showed when she was eating nachos a few times (let the woman live!), got a nice cameo and praised her son's success.
And while I certainly wish our Franchise QB, Baker Mayfield a speedy recovery, it is fun watching this young QB grow into the position and have fun doing it WHILE keeping us competitive and in games.
