The Yankees Season Once Again Ends In Complete And Utter Failure, With Another Team Celebrating On Their Field

Once again the Yankees season ends in complete and utter failure, with another team celebrating advancing in the postseason on their field.

It's the same old story every single fucking year. The Yankees remain stuck in their own ways, believing their process is correct and better than what their critics think. They believe at their core that if you get a ticket to the postseason dance, you're bound to get hot and win it all one of these years. Well, we're now 17 years into a World Series championship drought. Either we have the worst luck ever or the rest of the league figured out what you need to do to be successful. I'll let you figure that one out for yourself.

The difference this year was the pitching. Last year they had Luis Gil start an ALDS game. Didn't matter if Aaron Judge was doing his best superman impression, they had no chance getting that Blue Jays lineup out. This year they almost had too much pitching. Cam ran away with the Cy Young. Fried when he was healthy was awesome. Cole in his first year removed from Tommy John gave your everything he could. Rodon was great when he was out there. Warren and Weathers transformed into reliable guys in the 2nd half. The bullpen with Bednar, Headrick, and Blackburn pitching in high leverage was dynamite. And it was all wasted with this inept, flawed lineup. It's why they lost the division to the Rays and it's why they got swept out of the ALDS.

Sure, Judge missed tons of time and the entire postseason and you'd love to see what this would have looked like with him out there at full MVP strength, but there were plenty of guys on this roster capable of stepping up who failed. Ben Rice is fucking awesome, but he couldn't do it alone. Relying on guys like Trent Grisham, Jazz Chisholm, and Ryan McMahon killed them. There's just no world where Trent Grisham should be leading off for this team in an elimination game.

Him getting the final at bat with the tying run in scoring position while Ben Rice waited on deck was a true final kick in the balls.

You can say a manager doesn't change a whole lot in baseball, but Aaron Boone has more than overstayed his welcome here. Nine years of failure. One World Series appearance. 9-25 in the postseason against teams that were a higher seed. Besides Cashman he's the one true constant here. Time to go for good, please I beg you.

But who am I kidding, they're not going to make a change. They'll say the lockout is coming and it makes no sense to remove these guys after a season where Judge missed more than half the season. They'll just roll the dice again in hopes of hitting the jackpot. Meanwhile well run teams like the Dodgers, Brewers, and Rays will continue to lap them. The American League couldn't have been worse this year and they couldn't even reach the ALCS. Houston, Toronto, and Boston all had down years. The AL West winner was .500. The Central is the Central. All you had to do was take care of your own division and you were in the World Series. Fucking embarrassing.
