Pat Narduzzi Won't Stop Talking Shit About The Top-25 - Takes A Shot At Penn State For Doing Nothing And Being Ranked In The Preseason
I don't know if anyone talks more about the top-25 than Pat Narduzzi. It was the first thing he did after beating Virginia Tech on Friday:
And don't get me wrong. I got plenty of problems with the AP top-25. It's become a joke. I mean I bitched about it yesterday when Kentucky dropped out of the rankings for a road win over South Carolina. Why? Because of morons like this:
And Tate talked about it here:
I disagree that it means much outside of having a number on the TV. Once we start getting playoff rankings, those take over. My problem is the fucking joke it's become. It's not people watching games or using logic. There's a better solution out there. I'm fine with using nothing until the playoff rankings come out. But you can't do that because you gotta sell games on TV. You need a committee who watches games and can use analytics and eyes combined for rankings. It should be fluid but it needs to make sense.

But this is about Narduzzi. I respect how much he hates the AP poll. I tip my cap to how much he plays victim and that Pitt is some little program who won't ever get ranked. Pitt sneaky a top uniform look and loaded NFL guys. Think of some of the top guys who went there - Marino, Donald, Fitzgerald, Dorsett, Ditka. They play in the ACC, which, yeah, i mean that conference is a mess, but you're still in a power 4.
The preseason rankings are complete guesses. It's time we learn that. It's people trying to project what's going to happen this season. Shit goes wrong. But after a couple weeks it's clear who is paying attention and who isn't. Also as someone who grew up in Pennsylvania, the Pitt/PSU game needs to come back. Those fans hate each other and it's time to play that every year. I know it's crazy to think, but rivalry games should never stop. Get rid of all the dumb buy games and give me games that matter again.
