'That Cocksucker Thought He Was the King': Ronald Acuña DID NOT Hold Back His Thoughts on a Former Braves Coach
UPDATE: It's not totally clear if Acuña is talking about Brian Snitker or another former coach and the Venezuelan slang he uses that roughly translates to "cocksucker" seems to have a range of how severely it can be interpreted. Either way, still not great to have happen in the middle of the Postseason!
Uhhhh ... well that's not what you want your star player putting out on his podcast in the middle of a tied NLDS. I don't speak Spanish, but I can read a man talking shit about someone he hates.
Ronald Acuña Jr. never exactly made it a secret that Brian Snitker wasn't his favorite manager. He even voiced his frustrations publicly last season when Snitker did not bench Jarred Kelenic after not running out a fly ball, something he had done previously with Acuña.
But calling your recently retired manager — under whom you won six division titles and a World Series — a "cocksucker" on your new podcast is not a choice I love in October. I don't understand saying it publicly at all, but if you're going to do it, could we please wait until at least Thanksgiving?
Someone take the microphone away from this guy and tell him he has a .595 OPS and no home runs in the Postseason since 2022. I'm all for a good grudge, but let's stop grounding into bases loaded double plays before we start going after the World Series-winning manager on a podcast.
As someone in the podcast business, however, I must admit I respect getting this level of headline on Episode 4. Ronnie knew what he was doing. But please just stop worrying about your former boss and get some base hits.
