The Highlights Of Arvell Reese Causing Carnage While Wearing Number 52 In A Giants 80s Throwback Uniform Is A Lethal Cocktail Of Nostalgia And Football Porn For Big Blue Fans
So, um, the Giants absolutely stole Arvell Reese at the 5th pick, huh? I've always been jealous of watching franchises like the Eagles and Ravens sit at their draft spot only to have some absolute superfreak fall right into their laps on his way to becoming an All-Pro. Granted, the Giants took Reese at 5 while the Ravens and Eagles usually get their stud in the teens. But I didn't think there was even a slight chance the Reese would fall to the Giants and couldn't even process him being on the team when they drafted him because it hadn't registered that it was even a possibility.
Now that he's here however, I am in love. I mean watch that highlight reel and you feel like you are watching an evolutionary version of the 80s Giants linebacker corps. Between the number, the uniform, and the unbridled carnage he unleased, it feels like Reese could've been playing with Harry Carson, Carl Banks, Pepper Johnson, Gary Reasons, and of course LmotherfuckingT. The fact Reese looks like this in his fourth game as a pro while already showing glimpses of the monster he can become has me giddy considering how long this once great linebacking franchise ignored the position for decades.
And if I'm giddy now, I can't even fathom what I will feel like if Abdul Carter starts taking the steps to turn all those fancy advanced pressure numbers into sacks, hurries, and inevitably turnovers one way or the other.
