Philly Fans Are Fed Up With Watching The Eagles Be The Worst 2nd Half Football Team Ever, Suggest The Team Is Just Crushing Meatball Subs At Halftime
The Philadelphia Eagles are without a doubt the worst team in football in the 3rd quarter of games. It's been an issue for years now, but the numbers this year are truly staggering. Something happens to this team when they go into the locker room at halftime that is just inexplicable.
Through 4 games this year, the Eagles have had a total of 14 drives in the 3rd quarter of games. Out of those 14 drives, 10 of them (TEN!!!) have ended with a 3&out. 70% of the time they get the ball in the 3rd quarter, they are punting it away just over a minute later.
Out of the other 4 drives that weren't a 3&out? Well one of them ended with an interception against Chicago after just 5 plays. And one of them ended with a dreadful decision to go for it on 4th down yesterday against LA. So that right there is 12 drives where the Eagles have ran a total of 39 plays. 2 other drives this year ended with a field goal. So they have gained a total of 104 yards through 4 games, gave the ball back 12 times, and have only scored a total of 6 points
It is disgusting. It is unfathomable. It doesn't make a lick of goddamn sense that a team could be this bad coming out of halftime....unless the team is just hammering meatball subs in the locker room.
It's gotta be something. There HAS to be a reason why this team is so putrid coming out of the locker room after halftime. I'm sure the Eagles are getting out-coached. That's a guarantee at this point that opposing defenses are able to make a few adjustments, and then you have Nick Sirianni and Sean Mannion sitting around with their thumbs up their asses during halftime. But even that wouldn't explain how it's been this bad through 4 weeks. There has to be some systematic flaw in the way the Eagles are handling halftime right now.
At what point do you just stop going into the locker room for halftime? Treat it like a high school game. Go down to the corner of the field, eat some orange slices, slug some water, and get right back out there. At this point it has gotten so bad that the whole team gassing a bunch of Wawa meatball shorties is actually somewhat believable.
When you play that poorly for the OnsMost Times, then literally everything about your halftime routine needs to change.
My favorite part of this clip is when you see his brain start to sound the alarm in real time that he chose a word he had no idea how to get out.

Brain was saying, "hey, buddy, let's slow our roll a little here. We've had 19 beers since 10am and I genuinely don't think we know how to use "utmost" correctly in a sentence when we're sober. Maybe now isn't the best time to show off the vocab while being filmed for the evening news". But he still powered through anyway, and credit to him. At least he showed a little fight out there. He wasn't going to tuck his tail between his legs and just give up. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. But you never give up.
