The Buccaneers Fell To 0-4 And I Feel Like My Football Season Is Already Over
The Packers were the absolute laughing stock of the league 10 days ago when they got trounced by the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. Green Bay, sitting at 1-2 was coming into Raymond James Stadium to take on a Buccaneers team that was holding onto their season hopes purely because they play in the worst division in football.
But after the Panthers beat the Lions and with another NFC South team prepared to move to 2-2 on Monday night as the Falcons go into New Orleans to play the Saints, combined with that Bucs stinker, I've come to realize that my football season is likely over.
Now I'm not going to say this team cannot make the playoffs, because it technically is still possible in this horrific division. But my hopes for this team making a meaningful postseason run have been dashed. It's curtains. The reality of it is that this team stinks. They are going nowhere. They are not the contenders I and so many other Bucs fans had hoped for.
And the shame of it all is, that I still think they have good players. Players that just aren't being coached up well enough or put in the right positions. It seems obvious on the field with the playcalling and continuous penalties. Then this quote comes out this past week from Bucs great Gerald McCoy, "I heard some things that are being taught to these guys and I say 'that's not going to work.'"
That is an insane quote and basically says that these coaches are terrible. It's what most of the fans have come to realize as well watching snap after snap of good, blue chip prospects, continue to make mistakes and lose reps on the field.
So while this season may be lost, what can come of this is some good. This franchise needs a reset at Head Coach. Something a lot of people have wanted for the past 1-2 years. Todd Bowles cannot be back next season. New Offensive Coordinator Zac Robinson needs to go yesterday. There is no one to come in and be interim HC that has a meaningful shot at the job next year, so let's just run out the clock on 2026.

That's such a sad place to be on October 5th, the season not even a full month old, but that's where this Buccaneers season is. Basically exactly where Todd Bowles left it at the end of 2025 with that epic meltdown costing us a playoff birth. It ain't getting better and nothing is changing. So after this season ends, let's change it.
