It’s Tough, But It’s The Right Move To Leave Aaron Judge Off The ALDS Roster As He Continues To Deal With a Calf Strain

It’s not exactly the biggest surprise, but once again Aaron Judge will be left off the Yankees playoff roster as he continues to deal with his moderate calf strain.

What it really comes down to is Judge isn’t running. You can take all the BP you want, but you gotta be able to run the bases.

I’m on board with all of this. If Judge isn’t playing the field it really creates an issue for your flexibility. Him clogging the DH means Rice has to play first base, a position he’s struggled at. You’re playing the Rays who live to put pressure on you with speed and small ball. You gotta be on your A game defensively to beat this team. Having Rice at first does not put you in a good spot there. Not to mention Luis Garcia Jr. rides the bench in that scenario. It sucks to sit Judge, but with him compromised this is the way.

Other than the Judge news, Ryan Weathers getting onto the roster is huge. Need him to be a 1-2 inning guy out of the pen, giving them more swing and miss from the left side.

Cole starts today. Cam goes Game 2. Come away with a split here and I’m ecstatic. Rasmussen is a demon against the Yankees, but they did get to him earlier this year. Fascinated at how the crowd split is going to be. Either way, it’s a great day to play some postseason baseball.
