I Love This Old Padres Usher Belting Out Every Word To "All The Small Things" As The Padres Beat The Cubs
This is what it's all about. Old and young meshing, getting along to sing the same tunes. Baseball is usually the common bond at a game, but music does bring everyone together when your belting out an all time classic like "All The Small Things". This older gentleman wasn't even upset or mad it wasn't Elvis or some other ancient song he used to hear on the record player. He was fine vibing out and enjoying where his feet are. He truly is living his best life, listening to some awesome throwbacks and getting paid to attend a baseball game at a great park. I mean what can beat that?
Also, I just imagine this guy screaming "WORK SUCKS, I KNOW!". Who knows better than someone this age about how much work sucks?
The above video is from a few years ago but this is truly how you create an environment like this, you don't just pick "Mr. Brightside" and force it down people's throats. You play the song because Tom DeLonge is from there and goes to games and it because a natural tradition. Now you've got 85 year old men singing along to every single word of it as his team advances to the next round of the playoffs. Thats how you create a sing along tradition at your ballpark. It's just the epitome of "dudes rock". I hope this guy gets to sing at plenty more home games this postseason. This is the kind of video that will make you a fan of a team you have no connection to, we just all want to be that old man.
