The Yankees Embarrassed The Red Sox And Moved Onto The ALDS With Ease, Out-Scoring Boston 18-2 In Their Wild Card Series

Outside of the Yankees success, I live for the demise of the Boston Red Sox. This is what the rivalry is about. When the Yankees can deliver both of those things to me I'm on cloud nine. Doing what they just did in these two Wild Card games has left like a dream. Out-scoring Boston 18-2, with Aaron Boone running circles around Chad Tracy, I feel like I went to heaven.

The Yankees bread and butter is pitching. Max Fried followed Cam Schlittler's stellar start with one of his own. He cut through this Sox lineup with ease, handing the ball to the pen after six innings of one run ball. It's a performance we've come accustomed to with Fried this year when he's been out there. The Yankees have four aces, they only needed two to dust away this Boston team, and they never really were met with much resistance.

Luis Garcia Jr's homer represented the only run of the game for a bit before Bellinger began to break things open in the 5th. While the Yankees starting pitching continued to be their strength, Boston failed to get through 5 innings with one of their own. In came mid-season acquisition Erik Miller to hold things down and boy did he fail in that.

Impressively enough Chad Tracy failed to make one correct move in these two games. So happy they gave him an extension before the year ended.

As I watched this game in the middle of the night over in Italy, I became overwhelmed with joy when Garrett Crochet entered the game. The Red Sox magic bullet was finally used —reliever Crochet. He didn't record an out.

Whitlock came in to try and clean up Crochet's mess and promptly sealed the win for the Yankees, serving up this game-breaker to Bellinger. 4D chess move by Tracy to walk Rice to set up Bellinger for this moment. Like I said, not one correct move.

In the end, the Yankees had to get some work in for their closer David Bednar and brought him in to say good night to a 9-2 ball game.

What was your favorite part of Game 2? Bellinger's homer? Lombard's base hit? Contreras pimping a solo homer to make it 9-2? Crochet not getting an out? Chapman's stare down?

My god all of it was so good. Everything worked for the Yankees and broke for the Red Sox.

This is just step one of the journey. This shit has only begun, but winning the wild card in a two game sweep is the best case scenario obviously. Barely had to use the pen, if anything they needed to force guys in to get work. The starting pitching that I keep telling you is the best in two decades for this franchise, has shown up as scheduled. Cam lives to destroy the Red Sox. Fried has now given you two great performances against them in two years as well. But the bats. Look at this lineup. You're getting efforts throughout the whole damn squad. Rice, Bellinger, Lombard, Wells, Jazz, Garcia, Trent, Jazz. While the bottom of the order has given you much needed life, the big names are doing their own heavy lifting. Rice in Game 1, Bellinger in Game 2. It's a beautiful thing to see.

Rest up now with two days off before restarting this shit in Tampa. Unlike last year, New York will enter the ALDS rested and ready to go with an army of arms ready to go. The Rays will bring on a different level no doubt, as Boston here offered you basically nothing. It's one of the easiest postseason series I've ever experienced. I'm sure there were Twins duds in the past that rival it, but coming from Boston was extra special. Hey maybe Aaron Judge's calf is good enough to go now? If not, I still like their chances. Best I've felt about the team in a while, with Boone managing I believe the best he ever has.

I may need to move to Italy.

P.S.

P.P.S. Not only did Boston never overtake the Yankees, but they got swept out of the Wild Card by them. As someone who has been on the wrong side of these videos in the past, I will watch this one 1,000 times over the next two days.

P.P.P.S. I love Cam so much
