So this went viral the other day. It was also one of those, because it's 2026, half the people thought it was real, half the people thought it was fake. Kinda hate we are that point now. You have to go old school journalism and get multiple sources to confirm something is real on the Internet these days. Luckily we got that confirmation right from the source: 

Honestly, fair play. It's harmless. Kinda love that he only texts him after a win. No one wants a text after losing. No one wants a random 'hey, good effort out there. Get them next time' type text when you lose on Sunday. But a congrats and telling him it's the 4th win of the year is just some good old fashioned use of a number. It's what you should be doing if you happen to have a golfer's number. It's not the first Fitzpatrick he reached out to though

Kinda perfect. He's a watchful eye for the Fitzpatrick brothers. Do love how you can still see the confusion on Matt Fitzpatrick's face when talking about it. He doesn't know who this guy is or how he found his number. Just assumed it was a guy from the club. Do kinda wish he never went public with it. Just keep it quiet for another couple years. See if Matt wins another major and then go public with it. 

That said it would drive me crazy constantly getting a text and having no idea/no answer to who it is. It's half mental warfare, half being a good guy. Also happy to see he didn't text Matt after the Ryder Cup. Some things are more important than a congrats text. Rico always says that.
