Rest In Peace To Pac - One Of The Best Wrestlers Of This Generation

Last night we learned the shocking news that Benjamin Satterley (FKA Pac/Adrian Neville/Neville) had passed away. It's still a bit hard for me to process - especially considering he was wrestling on pay-per-view only 24 hours prior. He looked great in the ring, as always, and appeared as healthy as could be....

....but right now we have no information on the cause of death or what happened.

As the night went on, tributes poured in from the wrestling world - speaking not only to how incredible he was as a talent, but what great a person he was as well....

This is truly only a small sample size - if you search 'Pac' on Twitter on Instagram you'll see thousands more. He was a truly amazing wrestler who left a mark on both his peers and the fans. 

Two of his peers, Lance Archer and Marina Shafir, unfortunately heard the news right before they went out to perform last night - but they both gave very nice speeches about him after their matches….

I never had the pleasure of meeting Pac but I was a fan from the moment I saw him take on Prince Devitt (now known as Finn Bálor) at NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 2012. Seek out that match if you haven't seen it today - it's awesome seeing how talented both of them were so early in their careers.

Pac was a great NXT Champion as Adrian Neville when that brand really started to explode, and he had some incredible matches with Sami Zayn/Tyson Kidd/Kevin Owens showcasing his next-level athleticism and speed. I always thought his ability to then take a nerdy gimmick from Vince McMahon (who had him wear a cape to the ring and basically pretend to be a superhero) and turn it around once he made it to the main roster was unbelievable. He was so electric in the ring the fans truly didn't even care WHAT they had him wearing - the build up to the moment in his matches where everyone thinks they're gonna see that finisher in person was a highlight of any show….

Once he went to AEW and got to showcase a little more of who he was and what he was capable of, you really got to see him shine. I don't know that he ever had a bad match; he had chemistry with everyone under the sun and could work ANY style. Pac lays claim to some of the best hard hitting/high flying matches in AEW history against Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega, but also worked superb matches with Orange Cassidy that went down the comedic route more than anything….

….and just this year put on a classic with Darby Allin on a friggin virtual golf course….

He could do it all. This is a tremendous loss for the wrestling community, made worse by the fact it came so soon after the passing of Andy "The Butcher" Williams - who Pac paid tribute to in his final tweet….

I'll echo what Marina Shafir said - tell the people close to you that you love them today. Life's too short.
