The Real Miracle At Medinah - The US Pulls Off The Biggest Final-Day Comeback In Presidents Cup History, Dominates Singles And Wins The Cup Again

What a day, man. Look, it was fair to say that this US team was a disaster the first 3 days. We were lucky to be up 3-2 after day 1. We got swept in day 2. We did just enough yesterday to keep it in striking distance. Then it happened. We sent out Cam Young first: 

It's still insane that we waited so long to pair him and Gotterup together. That pairing yesterday kept us where we were. Fitting that, similar to the Ryder Cup, Young started the comeback. It wasn't just him, obviously. Justin Thomas dominated

Scottie was in control the whole time against Nico. Then there was the kid. Jackson Koivun solidified himself as a superstar today

That basically sealed it. But the real win was Morikawa getting Hideki on 18. That felt like it was going to be an International win and Morikawa made the clutch putt on 18 to win. That, even though Koivun technically sealed it, felt like it was game over. We did what we are supposed to though. When you have a team like this vs an International team without a ton of top talent, you beat them on singles day. You make some history.

And, yeah, fuck the first Miracle at Medinah. That went against us. We got it back today. It still doesn't make sense how we're so bad on Friday at this event. Or really how we're so bad at alternate shot in any of the Cups. Either way, it's a win. That's all that matters. We couldn't lose this. Not after Bethpage. Not with this being in Chicago. We still need to figure out how to do right pairings for other sessions and a real plan, but this is the start. It starts with the most dominant singles day there's ever been. 

And shout out Jacob Bridgeman. He was the outlier. He was the guy people most likely don't know about. Then he made the winning putt. He stayed in the fight against Min Woo Lee and took advantage late. What a win.
