We've Already Got Four Huge Knockouts On The UFC Prelims Tonight

Tonight's UFC Fight Night, headlined by Raul Rosas Jr vs Raoni Barcelos, isn't the most enticing card in the world on paper - but it's off to a hell of a start. And it's kind of astonishing how often that's the case in mixed martial arts!

Don't get me wrong - I'll take any fights over no fights, and tonight's event isn't the worst I've ever seen or anything....there's just not a lot of pop on the card; tons of heavy favorites, some newcomers from this season of The Ultimate Fighter, kind of a lackluster main event, etc. Weirdly, though, it seems like whenever a card underpromises....it overdelivers! You can almost set your watch to it.

Already we've got four huge knockouts on the prelims from Yazmin Jauregui, Montel Jackson, Elvis Brener, and Christian Edwards! Honestly, the third one is a little tough to watch knowing Josiah Harrell is just a few years removed from a serious brain surgery and that's the second time he's been knocked out this year - but it's obviously a very impressive finish from Brener. And as impressive as the Edwards finish was, my favorite part of that fight was actually his opponent's double hammer fist attempt....

Hilarious.
