Not a Dry Eye In Sight: Justin Verlander's Daughter Ran Out To The Mound Just As He Was Being Pulled For The Final Time In His Career

Today there is most certainly crying in baseball. 43 year old Justin Verlander took the mound for the final time in his MLB career and was able to deliver 5.1 IP of two run ball, striking out six. Realistically no one cared about the results today, but it was nice to see him actually deliver a solid start. The real moment happened when A.J. Hinch came to take Verlander out for the last time. Thats when Verlander's 7 year old daughter Genevieve ran out there also to give him a giant hug. Not a dry eye in sight. 

You could have the coldest heart in the world and this will still make you smile. That's how you retire. Well deserved for a sure fire first ballot Hall of Famer. 

It's a fitting swan song for one of the modern game's best pitchers. 

The day started with a ceremony of course which concluded with his daughter firing a strike to Justin.  

Verlander got the field to himself as he took the mound. Love when this happens. 

Of course also in attendance was Verlander's wife, the most ride or die WAG out there, Kate Upton. 

She's been with Verlander from the jump and has fought for him the whole way. 

This moment is Justin's, but he's definitely not here without Kate Upton by his side. As far as I'm concerned they're both Hall of Famers in their own right. Two all-time greats who has withstood years and years of excellence. 

 By the way, as a cherry on top for Tigers fans today, how about winning the game today with three in the bottom of the 9th capping it off with this walkoff homer. 

Been a shitty years for Tigers fans, but at least they got to have today. 

P.S. I laughed. Scherzer goes tomorrow for likely his final time.
