The New Era - Cal Football Is Giving The World A Behind The Scenes Documentary On How They Work The Transfer Portal/NIL And It Looks Unreal

You know what? Hell yes. We've spent enough time complaining about how Hard Knocks have fallen off, well you know what played? When they had the Giants for the offseason stuff and we got a look more in front office moves and all that. Sure, it made us a joke, but that happens when you lose all the time. Now college sports is much like that. There are GMs, there are guys dedicated to scouting the transfer portal and how it all goes down.

I want more of this. I hope we get to see negotiations, how you negotiate with guys to stay at the program vs chase money. I think NIL is fine. I have no problems with it. I've said it before but my biggest problem is the unlimited amount of transfers. One free transfer unless your coach leaves, then you can transfer again for free. Want to transfer a 2nd time for the hell of it? Sit out a year like the old days. That solves a lot of the issues. 

That said, whether we like to admit it or not, this is just the new normal. This sort of negotiation and figuring out how to raise money, that's just college sports now. Good news is we still all cheer for laundry. No one cares who is playing for their team just that if their team wins. That solves it all. Shout out Cal for doing this too. I know this probably helps them in the long run, but marketing is just as much of a program as anything else now. I'm a sucker for this sort of stuff. I'll watch it all. I love seeing how these teams figure out who to go after and offer money to. 

Yeah, it's the new era but this looks fucking awesome.
