The Giants Are Back To A Being A Real Football Team By Kicking The Cowboys Ass With Some Old School Bully Ball
That's what we've waited over a decade for. Not since the days of Coach Coughlin, Eli Manning, Thunder and Lightning have we seen something like that. Old school bully ball football. Ran it down the Cowboys throat all night and when we got sick of doing that let Jaxson Dart do his thing. Oh and yeah that whole Isaiah Likely looking like the best tight end in the NFL thing. That works too.
Am I a little worried about the defensive backs? Sure, but that's not what we do now. We celebrate. Why? Because we looked like a football team. Let me clarify again. We looked like a normal football team. That's where we were as fans of this franchise. We've seen the lowest of lows. We'e seen some dumb shit on a regular basis. But not tonight. Tonight we saw a team who was the better team for 60 minutes.
It was old school too. Take time off the clock. Run it for 6 yards, run it again for 6 yards. Then when you get bored with that let Dart find Nabers or Likely for a first down. It wasn't pretty. It wasn't anything cool. It was old school nuts on the line type football. It's why you go hire John Harbaugh for all that money. It paid off in week 1. Because now I'm dreaming of playoffs. I'm dreaming of having games that matter into December. I'm dreaming of the Giants constantly finding ways to win and doing it with this old school style.
The defense did what they had to too. They got enough pressure to force that turnover. That led to points. That switched the game. They didn't need to constantly bail the offense out. They just had to get a couple stops. Did it on the first possession and the last possession of the first half. Everything else? Let the big boys do it. Let Patrick Ricard put guys on their ass. Let Skattebo and Singletary run all over the place.
Beautiful. It's what we deserved.
