After Leading The Knicks To Their First Title In 53 Years, Jalen Brunson Has Decided To Save Another New York Institution By Hosting The 52nd Season Premiere Of SNL
As a wise Knicks fan once said...
First of all, I fully admit that the headline to this blog was a bunch of Click Burglar Clem nonsense because constantly complaining about SNL has become more annoying than SNL has ever been during these down years/decades. I view SNL as essentially the pop culture version of the Home Run Derby or NBA Dunk Contest. It's an entertainment fixture that's nowhere close to what it was at its peak but it can definitely have it moments, even if it can also be utter trash at times as well.
Nonetheless, Lorne Michaels doesn't have to worry about a flop to open the 52nd(!!!) season of SNL now that The King of New York has signed on to host it since that means millions of Knicks fans will happily stay awake well past their bedtimes and blindly love whatever sketches star our basketball savior. The rest of the cast may be lame and the references may go 1000 miles over my washed up head. But if Jalen Brunson is involved, I will love everything about it. Especially if we get a cameo from every member of the team.
It's funny how we always said whoever leads the Knicks to a title would instantly have their lives changed, especially the star player of the team. But it's crazy how instant all that came true considering in the less than three months since Jalen Brunson got the Knicks their chip, he no longer has to carry umbrellas during a rain storm.
He doesn't have to wait in lines for clubs that other NBA stars have to wait in.
And now he's hosting the season premiere of a longstanding comedic institution that reserves the host role for the A List of A Listers. Quite a change from countless bozos on TV and social media calling him overpaid four years ago. Knicks in 5. Knicks in 26 forever.
