'Welcome To The Big 10' - Pat Fitzgerald Loved That His O-Lineman Stayed In The Fight After Puking All Over Two Defenders In The Middle Of A Play
We saw this happen on Friday. Incredible pass protection here. Robert Wright didn't just get one guy, he blocked the stunt with the yakking. That's how you do it. That's what it takes to win. It's why he won an award from his coach Pat Fitzgerald
Good to know that Robert Wright is a multi-time mid-play puker. You gotta put that in the playbook. Give him something a little weird so it times up when there's a big play to be had. No one wants to run towards puke or deal with that. You can handle other things in the trenches but the moment you see an avalanche of puke coming at you, no thank you. Maybe both stunt the wrong way and the hole widens for a big gain. That's football 101 right there.
And uh, ya think no one noticed at Georgia State? No offense to Georgia State, but people are locked into the power conference games more. Not to mention you did it on a Friday night when games were lighter. You can't hide from a power puke like this. It's disgusting and great all at once. Fitzgerald isn't wrong. You can't come back with some remnants on you. That easily leads to a chain reaction. Even thinking about it has me not feeling the best and I'm not a puker.
So shout out Robert Wright Jr. Play of the season for Michigan State and he accomplished it in week 1. Congrats on Spartan of the Week.
