Love The Strategy: John Harbaugh Has Now Gotten The Dave Gettleman Stink Out Of The Giants Roster, Ready To Make Malachi Fields A Superstar

I'm not going to celebrate that Darius Slayton got cut. I mean that's an asshole move and he wasn't an asshole like Evan Neal. But it was time. I was sick of seeing Darius Slayton end up as WR1 and then have a bunch of drops. What I do like is that the Dave Gettleman stink is out of the Giants roster

I don't know if a weird stat like that has made me smile. I mean Dave Gettleman was awful at his job, but Andrew Thomas is good. So it works out. That's the one guy we want. What I do see is people freaking out over this:

Not me. Throw Isaiah Likely in that since he's a tight end who catches a ton. Then there's Malachi Fields. He's going to be awesome:

People saying he's Hakeem Nicks now with the switch but other people are saying he's Plaxico:

I read that as Malachi Fields is basically the best of both those wide receivers. Go ahead and make him a favorite for Rookie of the Year now. But I don't think I'm lying in the sense of the Giants being the most intriguing team in the NFC. You know about the Seahawks, Rams and even the Lions. But the NFC East is mixed up. People don't trust the Cowboys or Eagles. The Giants are in the mix.

Nobody knows how good the Giants are. It's a new coach. It's a young quarterback. It's receivers like Malik Nabers being healthy and he's a freak of a wide receiver. It might be running the ball down your throat with a bunch of running backs. It's a defense built on getting pressure. Sign me up.

Most importantly though. The Dave Gettleman stink is finally away from the franchise.
