Nobody Has Ever Been Put In A Bigger Mental Pretzel Than Kyle Shanahan Trying To Understand The Time Difference In Australia

Is this guy high? What the heck is going on here?
I get it. There's a pretty large time difference between San Francisco and Melbourne. Something like 17 hours. But does Kyle Shanahan not realize that the time difference only goes one way? I don't even get the "we're such creatures of habit" statement because the 9ers are playing on a Friday morning, which is a Thursday night in the US. Maybe if this was a regular week where they play on Sunday, I could understand wanting to keep the routine relatively the same. But does Kyle Shanahan think he needs to find a way to control time in Australia to get them in sync with Pacific Time? Because it almost feels as if he's trying to control time right now.
And here's where you realize that even the more "cerebral" NFL coaches are still dumbasses. Kyle Shanahan might understand X's and O's on a football field better than 8,299,999,995 people on the planet. But make him figure out how time zones work outside of the United States, and now he thinks it's 3 different days all at the same time. He can't tell if he's 17 hours in the future of 3 years in the past. Maybe that's a good thing in terms of being a head football coach. Maybe you want your coach to be so borderline illiterate in every other facet of life outside of football, just to make sure all of his brainpower is focused on the game. Or maybe this trip to Australia is going to put him in such a mental pretzel that he won't be able to unravel himself until it's too late in the season. Time will tell, even if Kyle Shanahan can't tell time.
