Nathan Fielder Teamed Up With Elizabeth Holmes (Of Theranos Fame) For A Secret Documentary Covering The 34 Days Before Her 11 Year Prison Sentence Began? HELL YEAH, Here's The 1st Trailer!

“Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss. From boundary-pushing directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim comes You Can See Everything.”

This blog is specifically for my fellow Fielder Freaks out there because outta nowhere, we're about to be eating GOOD come October.  I had heard faint whispers about this Elizabeth Holmes documentary last year but couldn't tell if it was pure Reddit troll slop or something that could actually exist. The premise is simply too good. My main question right off the jump is... Will she use "The Voice"?

But looks like it should be quite a surreal showdown between those 2 titans of industry, whatever method that may come in. Immovable Object vs. Unstoppable force type stuff. BUCKLE UP.

Lest we forget, it's usually a pretty fun challenge to discern what's actually reality inside a Nathan Fielder project. If you haven't seen his mind bending work in S1 & S2 of 'The Rehearsal' or 'Nathan For You', highly recommend giving that a binge ASAP. Just be prepared for one of the most twisted rides of your life. Plus more than a few cringeworthy moments. But goddamn is it incredible to see situations play out so SO awkwardly. Living breathing art really. And he always paints a masterpiece.

And this new project should be no different. If you're not familiar with Elizabeth Holmes, she's an incredibly polarizing figure. Certainly worth a Wikipedia rabbit hole trip next time you're pooping. Long story short, at only 19 years old she dropped out of Stanford to found a company called Theranos. Her goal was to revolutionize blood testing with an invention that could run 200 tests from (1) solitary finger prick. Sick idea right? Lots of brilliant rich people sure thought so.

Lizzy raised over $700 million from major investors and turned Theranos into a $9 billion valuation. The only minor issue was… Her technology did NOT  work. In fact they were secretly using standard commercial machines instead of their own devices, which lead to inaccurate test results & eventually brought the whole house of cards crashing down in deeply voiced flames.

Whistleblowers & journalists exposed the scam in 2015, then she was convicted of wire fraud/conspiracy in 2022. Now currently 3 years into an 11-year prison sentence. So needless to say, the contents of this delicious & demented documentary seem pretty intriguing. Guess we'll find out next month. Well played ruse per usual Nathan. Thanks for the memories.

What the fuck did I just watch? One of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING is Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder’s unparalleled, full-access look into Elizabeth Holmes’s life leading up to her imprisonment. Shocking, expansive, and revealing, depending on what you choose to believe. At 174 minutes, it never lags, but it certainly lingers, leaving behind haunting revelations and disturbing moral contradictions that I’m still trying to wrap my head around. A mesmerizing psychological excavation of truth, performance, and self-deception that will have you questioning every glance, gesture, and word and all through Fielder’s dark, comedic point of view. Gorgeously photographed and edited. Completely stunned.

PS: if you dig Nathan's work I'd definitely check out his protege John Wilson as well. 'How To With John Wilson' on HBO is an unexpectedly A+ watch and his new movie 'History Of Concrete' looks great too.

PPS: also shout out to Lance Oppenheim who directed this Nathan/Elizabeth doc and has the Chris Hansen movie 'Primetime' coming out soon too. Helluva year for that dude creating incredible #content

PPPS: 'Primetime' needs to get this guy involved for the marketing campaign. 2nd best Hansen voice impression outside of Pattinson. Sliiiiiiiiiice.
