ELECTRIC: Baylor Scored a 4th and Goal TD With 9 Seconds Left Only For Auburn To Stuff the Potential Game-Winning 2-Point Conversion

In a near carbon copy of Colorado-Georgia Tech from Thursday night — played just down the road from this game, funny enough — Auburn and Baylor tried to out-ass each other for about 59 minutes before delivering an electric finish.

DJ Lagway, after completing just 27 of 54 passes on the afternoon, got the Bears down to the goal line at the end of the game and converted on 4th and goal with a short touchdown pass to Gavin Freeman. Dave Aranda elected to go for the win, but Auburn managed to keep Baylor out of the end zone by about an inch to get the season-opening win by the skin of its teeth.

I was relatively high on Auburn coming into the season, but Byrum Brown did NOT look good in his SEC debut. Long way to go, but Alex Golesh will need a lot more out of his quarterback if the Tigers want to meaningfully compete this season.

Great Week 1 finish, though.
