Baseball Players Suffer The Weirdest Injuries Part 745 - Pirates Pitcher Luke Weaver Hasn't Gotten A Good Nights Sleep In A Month Because He's Been Dealing With SEVERE Poison Ivy All Over His Lower Half

Baseball truly is the only sport where you see stuff like this, every season we see freakish, strange injuries happening to guys but this one may take the cake. Not being able to sleep comfortably because of poison ivy sounds miserable, and that's exactly what Luke Weaver has been going through since he got to Pittsburgh after getting traded from the Mets. Naturally he's pitching like shit since he's itchy all over and you have to feel for the guy. You're never comfortable, he said it's affected his immune system and he recently also had a cold, this man is going through HELL while also pitching for the Pirates, when it rains it pours I guess.

He hasn't gone on the IL with the posion ivy but my guess is he'd be the first player ever to hit the list because of it. He mentioned to DK Pittsburgh Sports that he actually has the rash all over his lower half. There can't be anything worse than being in the dog days of summer, your team has fallen out of contention, you have to live in Pittsburgh AND you have posion ivy all over your lower half. But then when you read that he got the rash because....he bumped against a bush while in Miami. I mean come on, the jokes tell themselves.

Someone getting a rash because they brushed brushed against a bush in Miami? Nicky Smokes, is that you?

I haven't had a case of the ivy in years, maybe decades, but you remember those times you have it as a kid and it fucking sucks. Everything is miserable, you feel like crap, you're covered in lotion that doesn't really work, just not a fun few weeks for Weaver. There for sure are worse rashes to get while in Miami, but this is one you truly never expect to come home with. Is there nothing the Pirates training staff can do? I'm not up on my poison ivy medicine and what not, but there has to be SOMETHING the trainers can do? A shot that calms it down? All in all, it sounds fucking miserable for Weaver, pitching isn't easy, especially when you've got hives all over in your undercarriage. You gotta feel for the guy, hopefully that clears up soon for him.

PS. I also think the only two teams this could happen to is the Pirates and the Mets, the fact that he came straight from New York to Pittsburgh and got a once in a lifetime rash breakout, that's not lost of me. In the NFL this could only happen to the Jets too, just saying.
