The More You Learn About Fake 49ers WR Daejon 'Wide Deceiver' Love, the More You Have to Admire the Man

By now, every man, woman and child in this nation who's American enough to respect the great game of football, must know the story of Daejon Love, one of the great con men of our time. Who cosplayed at a 49ers wide receiver to bilk 26 women out of $1.3 million, who Jordie already posted about:

...💰 Fake bank statements

🚘 Luxury cars

📱 Dating apps

His IG even had “Free Agency,” “Year 1” and “Super Bowl” highlights.

He was arrested at an airport with an alleged accomplice.

Bro really created an entire NFL career… to run a $1.3M dating scam.

That's an average of exactly $50,000 per victim. How anyone could get any other human to hand over 50 grand is in and of itself, fascinating. How one could do pull that Jedi Mind Trick on 25 other women is worthy of study. How, in a world of Fantasy Football, and the existence of every NFL player in history is available quite literally at your fingertips, but he still pulled it off so many times? That is the stuff legends are made of.

And like any true legend, Love's story has not gone away with the 24 hour news cycle. This gentleman is the gift that just keeps giving.

Consider Cameo outing him:

I'm sorry. Did he say, "for as low as $5,000"? I couldn't focus on reading it over the clanging of this guy's massive, iron testicles.

To put that figure in perspective, that's in the neighborhood of what some top Cameo celebrities charge businesses. Kevin O'Leary, for example. No one comes anywhere close to commanding that amount just to send somebody's dad a Happy Birthday wish.

Here are what some actual 49ers, past and present charge:

Kyle Juszczyk: $440

Novorro Bowman: $200

Richard Sherman: $260

Patrick Willis: $160

Terrell Owens: $499

But Love did the "No half measures, Walter" thing and went right to asking 10X what one of the great wideouts of his or any other generation gets. All they can do is say "No," right? Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Fortune favors the bold. Unfortunately for him, Cameo does not. They're not some naive woman hoping to sink her claws into an (alleged) NFL superstar and increase her social credit score. They actually check their content creators before they let them, you know, create content, to make sure they are who they claim to be. Which I guess is a novel concept in these days where chasing clout is everything, but give or take $50,000 isn't.

But it does not end there. The videos Love sent his would be romantic partners are here. And they are spectacular:

And I'm sure we are only just beginning to scratch the surface. When you've been playing the long con the way Love has, you're going to leave some kind of trail. Paper. Fingerprint. DNA (particularly with the squirter.) And in his case, it's all on video for the world to see and admire.

We can all feel bad for the victims he suckered into buying his preposterous act, and still respect his crooked game. Specifically, his commitment to the bit. He's been living like Costanza when he told his future in laws he had a place in the Hamptons, and the more called his bluff, the more he just kept bluffing.

"There's no house! There's no solarium! There's no Prickly Pete!"

But there is a Daejon Love. Just not on the 49ers. 26 victims of his scam are all poorer today. But the rest of us are all richer for having learned about him. The con artists's con artist.
