UPDATE: Dianna Russini Responded To The Athletic Investigation Too As Rumors Swirl She's Planning Her Media Comeback SOON And Possibly Getting Hired By Barstool SPORTS? Wait What? Aw SHIT.
(SOURCE) - “I stand by any and all reporting I’ve ever done in my career,” Russini said in a statement to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, while also declining to be interviewed. The issue wasn’t the accuracy of her reporting, even though The Athletic pointed out her claim that a firing of then-Titans coach Mike Vrabel was “not happening,” before he was fired. The problem was that “Russini’s relationship with Vrabel was in clear violation” of the publication’s standards.
Either way, it’s the first comment she has provided on the matter since her April 14 resignation letter. It remains to be seen whether she’ll fully address the situation, before or after taking another job in sports media.
Little update to the update here for all you Russini Rabbit Hole fans. Looks like Dianna finally got around to making a comment about that whole Vrabel/Sedona situation from April. For someone so well versed in media deadlines & Big J Journalism, kinda surprising she'd wait so long to get "the truth" out there. Also slightly curious the main investigation article from The Athletic didn't contain a comment from her... But they wrote a separate article that did. And in both cases she declined to be interviewed.
What is there to hide at this point? Wait a second... Was it actually NOT a girls trip to Arizona? Say it ain't so!
Fuck if I know! I'm just the humble messenger here. And that's especially important for all of us to remember moving forward. Because she's now reportedly planning her return to the sports media world with some heavy hitters amongst the rumor mill. Apparently that includes the most fearless tall leader Dave Portnoy & his $1 company Barstool SPORTS? Aw SHIT.

Giphy Images.Honestly have no idea if those whispers are true but as I've stated a many times before, NO hard feelings from my end if she does end up becoming a co-worker here. There's never been a personal angle in any of this coverage. I just simply cannot resist hoarding juicy pageviews for the people. As a fellow Big J combing the internet for clicks, I'd like to think she'd sympathize with my situation.
After all, living inside Scoop City 24/7 is not for the faint of heart. The Internet can wear you out like no other. The digital version of the rippin' & the tearin'. But I'll always respect anyone out there who's willing to go hard in the paint. So best of luck to her with that well earned comeback. And remember, I'm saying this will all due respect.
