Alexander Hassenstein. Getty Images.I've blogged about Alica Schmidt a bunch of times before, because this is a sports blog. Yep, sports only here. You see Alica Schmidt is/was an Olympian. She represented Germany in the 4x400 mixed relay, one of the most prized events of all the Summer Olympics. That's where she grabbed our attention and also when she was once named the sexiest athlete in the world. Not my words, it was someone else who called her that.
But I'm willing to call her the best dual-threat athlete in the world. It's football season. All people want to talk about are dual-threat quarterbacks. They thrive in college football and why a bunch of them got drafted in the latest Snake Draft. But how many other Olympians are also world class models? I don't know the answer, I do know that Alica Schmidt is one. See:

So shout out Alica Schmidt. Truly an elite athlete who is also an elite model. That's something we should celebrate going into Labor Day weekend. Summer might be ending even though it's roughly 135 degrees outside. Maybe we can learn a thing or two from Alica on how to cool down in the hot weather.
