'I Put My Job On That One' - Robert Saleh Hasn't Coached One Single Titans Game, But Publicly Guarantees That Cam Ward Will Not Fail
Uhh yeah, no kidding that Robert Saleh is putting his job on the line with Cam Ward's success. That's how the NFL works. If you have a bad quarterback, you don't win games and therefore you get fired. Now publicly guaranteeing that Cam Ward will not fail is a bold strategy. You obviously want to be confident in your quarterback. You obviously think the former No. 1 overall pick is going to be decent with a new coaching staff, some weapons and being a 2nd year guy vs a rookie. But you can't say he's not going to fail before you even coach a game! We've seen plenty of quarterbacks fail. We've seen plenty of quarterbacks with the Titans fail.
Still hilarious where Cam Ward and the Titans were last year:
What I really love though? Titans open up with the Jets. It's only right for Robert Saleh to get game 1 against his old team, even if he says there's no revenge factor
I refuse to believe that mostly because I refuse to believe that any pro athlete or coach drops a grudge. These guys live on grudges. You hear about how people are pissed with where they get drafted and they are like the 13th overall pick. They never live it down!
So let it be known. Cam Ward isn't going to fail. That's a Bob Saleh promise and if he does fail, well, Robert Saleh is out of a job. Bold statement to make before week 1, no pressure at all on either of them. Hey, maybe the new look for the Titans with the jersey and logo will get the stink off of them. Get them back to the Ryan Tannehill days where they at least made the playoffs. We're not talking about the Steve McNair/Eddie George era yet.
