What a Week For Angels Fans: Stan Kroenke Buys The Team From Arte Moreno And Now Plans To Build a Brand New $2.5B Stadium

What a fucking high Angels fans gotta be on right now. Out of nowhere a few days ago Arte Moreno sold the team to Stan Kroenke, ending years and years of gross incompetence with ownership.

Team employees have hope again, reaching out to previous ticket purchasers who swore to never return under Moreno's reign. It's a brand new world out there for them.

Even better? Kroenke revealed he has plans to build a $2.5 billion stadium to replace the archaic Angel Stadium.

I guess some may have a soft spot for this place and don't want it knocked down, but I've seen plenty online about a need to revamp this place, complaining that it's been falling apart for a bit now. Kroenke wants his fingerprints all over this franchise from the jump it appears. Keep the rocks and water fall though. Maybe make it bigger. I feel like they should go back to the Anaheim Angels and embrace the area. Like Yankee fans are always going to invade in that area, but last night was nuts. This place used to be hell for the Yankees and now it's a safe haven.

Moreno selling this team to Kroenke is a massive win overall for the Angels. Whatever franchise Kroenke buys, they win. He obviously got a ton of shit for moving the Rams, but the LA Rams immediately won a Super Bowl and have maintained success for years. The Nuggets won a championship in 2023. Avalanche won the Cup in 2022. Arsenal just won the Premier League. Even the Colorado Rapids won the MLS Cup under him. This dude buys teams and wins. Must be so much fun to be super rich and successful. I am neither.

It would be something to get the Angels back to just making the postseason after the failures they've endured over the years. Remember they had Shohei Ohtani and Trout and couldn't sniff the postseason.

Speaking of Trout, it seems shipping him off might be on the table compared to years past where Moreno saw zero to gain from the idea. That alone sums up Moreno's tenure.

Easier said than done for a declining 35 year old with this contract, but hey it seems like they'll at least try.

I knew it was bad, but not that bad.

Anyways, congrats to Halos fans, whoever is left to be happy. You guys deserve this.
