UPDATE: Tony Romo Got His Driving Privileges Revoked And Has To Install An "Ignition Interlock Device" After Pleading No Contest To His OWI In Wisconsin (Also Replaced By JJ Watt For NFL Games On CBS While He Recovers From A Reliance On Pain Medication & Alcohol)
All jokes aside, got a bummer of an update on that Tony Romo OWI from July. He just posted a lengthy statement online that said he was stepping away (temporarily?) from his NFL broadcasting duties at CBS and dedicating some serious time attempting to wrangle these demons.
(SOURCE) - On Sept. 1, Romo announced that he pleaded no contest to a civil offense and explained that he is owning his mistakes in a statement posted to his Instagram. Court records show that Romo's plea of no contest resulted in his driving privileges being revoked for six months. He will also have to complete the "Alcohol Assessment Program," while paying a total of $834 in fines. If he fails to pay, his license suspension can be extended for up to one year.
Romo is also required to have an "ignition interlock device" installed on any vehicles that is owned, operated or registered in his name. That will remain the case for a minimum of one year after his license is reissued. Online court documents show the unsafe passing and open intoxicant charges were both dismissed on Sept. 1.
Apparently he's been battling a reliance on pain medication stemming from the many injuries he got during his Dallas Cowboys career by using alcohol to offset it. Certainly a slippery slope to try and navigate for anyone out there. Sucks to see it all go down so publicly.

Best of luck to him in his recovery. In the meantime though, uhhhh should be pretty interesting to see how JJ Watt ends up meshing with Jim Nantz. Wonder if CBS will use their success to ultimately end the Romo saga once and for all after that. Only time will tell.
Speaking of time, how about Antonio's ex Jessica Simpson aging like the finest of wines? Sorry for the random ass interjection there but truthfully she's the only thing I think about every time his name comes up. Guess I won't be dreaming about Daisy Duke at 4:15 pm anymore though. Such a damn shame. Thanks a lot Obama.
