Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Got His "Welcome To Philly" Moment By His Penthouse Getting Struck By Lightning And Flooding Immediately After Signing The Lease
Sorry, KCP. But this is just the way things go here with the Philadelphia 76ers. It's Murphy's Law. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
The Sixers will trade for Andrew Bynum, he'll injure his knee at a team bowling event, and never play a single game for the Sixers. The Sixers will draft Markelle Fultz 1st overall, and he'll literally forget how to shoot a basketball over the summer. The Sixers will draft Zhaire Smith, and then he'll almost die after eating Thai chicken and having a sever allergic reaction to sesame. The Sixers will sign Kentavious Caldwell-Pope after trading for Jaylen Brown and signing LeBron James, he'll move to Philadelphia and sign the lease on his penthouse apartment earlier in the day, and then his spot will get struck by lightning and the whole place goes underwater just minutes later.
It's just the way that things work around here. The moment you sign that contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, literally anything can happen. I feel bad saying this but KCP might just need to take one for the team. The Sixers can't afford for a guy like LeBron to be dealing with any bullshit like this. Joel can't deal with any more setbacks. Tyrese Maxey already dealt with a house fire. The season will go down the drain if Jaylen Brown gets hit with a Sixers curse. Again, I feel truly awful saying this but if KCP has to deal with a flooded penthouse just to keep the bad juju away from other guys on the roster, then that might just have to be his role. I'm sure there are plenty of contractors in the city who would be willing to take that job for free to do any repairs if it means a Sixers parade in June.
