With 27 Horses Now In the Go Go Greys Stable We Get A Much Needed Stable Tour With Dave - Plus Full Card Picks For Saratoga - At The Post With Mut

This was big news.
The big horse in the Go Go Greys barn, Lovely Grey, back on the work tab. She has not clocked an official work since her fall on opening day at Saratoga. There was some hope she might be back for next week's Lake Placid stakes, but she'll instead point for a return sometime in November.
I know that because Go Go Greys' owner, My Boss Dave, gave us an hour of his time for a Go Go Greys Stable Tour Live Stream on Thursday.
The response was awesome. Not for anything I did - just because Dave is so honest about his horses and the industry. If you're a racing fan, you know how protective the sport is about its many, many warts. Dave cuts through a lot of that bullshit, as he does in most things.
I hope you'll watch it and share with other racing fans. The last time we did this in the spring, Go Go Greys had like 10 horses. The latest update shows 27 horses and two broodmares - pretty wild.
As far as Go Go Greys these last three weeks at Saratoga, it sounds like both Naughty Nancy and Miss Watermelon have a chance to run. Others are looking at fall or early 2027 starts.
We went through every horse and talked a bunch of racing topics.
I'd like to do one every quarter (season), and I'll push for another in the fall.

Dave is not the most outspoken owner in horse racing. That honor goes to Rico Bosco's friend, Mike Repole.
Repole actively taunts The Jockey Club - which I applaud 100%.
He posted this last night, calling for an independent investigation into the vet info leak that was the biggest story in racing this week.
The industry needs and deserves to know: How did this happen??? How long did it happen??? Who had access??? Were others involved??? Who knew what, and when??? And how do we make sure this NEVER happens again??? That is why I am calling for a COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT THIRD-PARTY INVESTIGATION into everything relevant inside both HISA and The Jockey Club.
I agree with Mike.
The Jockey Club won't agree, because they never seem to do the right thing. And they don't seem to care about the folks who fuel the sport - the bettor.
I WILL MAKE THIS EASY FOR HISA AND THE JOCKEY CLUB, I WILL PERSONALLY PAY 100% OF THE COST OF THE INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION.
Mike loves all-caps, but this is a great offer. He's saying he'll pay for it. How can HISA and The Jockey Club say no? If they have nothing to hide, let's get some real answers here.
If there is nothing to hide, this should 100% happen

As for Marshall Gramm, my opinion hasn't changed much since my blog on Tuesday. But I'll add that radio host Steve Byk made a point I wish I had made, and I'm paraphrasing here, but basically that Marshall Gramm had every advantage in the world as a horseplayer, and he still did this. Something close to that. 100%, Steve. Guy was propped up by the industry and did not do the right thing.
HISA says they're pursuing charges, so I guess it will all come out in court, which I look forward to.
I also look forward to hearing more about New York trainer Steve Schauer. Schauer is a relative unknown to horseplayers but has shown up at Saratoga and been on fire.
Going back to last August, he's had just 12 horses run for 35 starts. He has 14 wins (40%), and 27 of his 35 starts have hit the board for an outrageous 77% in-the-money. This year at Saratoga, he's 4 for 7, plus an additional third-place finish.
A 20% winning percentage in racing is very good.
A 40% winning % in racing is spectacular. Especially in New York and especially at Saratoga, the hardest meet in the world.

Fans have taken notice - so much so that DRF's Dave Grening re-posted his story on Schauer for 2025 yesterday on X.com after so many people were asking about him. Schauer has won with his last three runners at Saratoga.
Schauer, 58, said he started handicapping when he was 10 years old. In 2005, he began claiming horses with some partners, but ultimately those people backed out. Over the last seven years, Schauer had horses with trainer Antonio Arriaga, but he was a constant presence around the barn.
“I’ve had my ups and downs,” Schauer said. “Seven years ago, when I joined Antonio, I decided to take an interest in training. Maybe I could do better myself.
“My wife said you’re practically there every morning anyway, why don’t you got out on your own,” Schauer added. “I was working with Antonio in the morning watching my horses closely. It was time to go out on my own.”
Interesting stuff that has people talking - when you come out of nowhere and win like this at Saratoga, people are going to notice.
Including another NY trainer, Ray Handal, who has started posting the past performances of Schauer's horses on X.com. Schauer has a runner Saturday in the 9th with #3 Cocktailsnkringle. He's 15-1 on the Morning Line, but my guess is he'll be much lower than that come post time. Much. Lower. When trainers get hot, again, bettors take note. And they should.
Great success in horse racing gets people talking, and Schauer has grabbed the attention of horse players at Saratoga with this hot meet. Hoping to say hello when I'm in Saratoga next week for the Travers.

DraftKings Racing Race Day
We'll be in Saratoga with the great DraftKings crew for a live stream from the backyard on Saturday afternoon. I think the stream starts at 3 PM. Travers Day is my favorite day of the year, and I can't wait.
Just three Saturdays left in the Saratoga meet. Sad. But that means football is almost here. That's how I get past the depression of Saratoga closing on Labor Day.
Great racing across the county this Saturday, and I'll be betting Saratoga, Colonial, and Del Mar. DraftKings Racing/DK Horse has a Track Bet Bonus at Del Mar and Colonial. Just make sure you OPT IN on the REWARDS/OFFERS tab to get involved.
Let's start at Saratoga for Grade 1 Alabama. #6 Counting Stars will be a huge favorite, and rightfully so. She is faster than this group and has an early pace advantage. Stretching out should not be an issue, and she's a very likely winner at a very short price. The horse has gotten really good, and her best is just much better than these.

I don't think I'll have any bets on this other than using Counting Stars as a single in the Late Pick 5. If I do play the exacta, #2 Ati Girl looks like a horse that should be fine on the stretchout as a half to a talented horse named Nu What's New. But other than Counting Stars hopefully putting on a show, not an exciting betting race.
EXACTA 6-2
At Del Mar, the Grade 1 Pacific Classic won't run until 9:30 ET, but it's a great betting race.
#11 Knightsbridge is 100% horse to beat. He ran HUGE last time, and a repeat of that effort makes him a clear winner here. But horses who run that well usually regress. And while he wants to show speed, there is a bunch of other pace in here to keep him company on the front end. Full Serrano, Forged Steel, Navajo Warrior…even the Japan entrant Finger - they all want to be forwardly placed. I went looking for a horse that would be coming from off the pace going a mile and a quarter.
I landed on #7 Hit Show. Last fall this guy was right there with Magnitude in the Clark. Last time, he had no chance with the winner going wire to wire, but he ran on for second (well back) and got a 100 Beyer. Training well, he gets a setup today, and with a clean trip he can win this at 5-1 or better. He should be coming late.
At a price, do not ignore #6 Original Sin. He'll be closing too, and distance shouldn't be an issue. I even think #4 Subsanador can hit the board at a huge price - he has a show issue last start and is better than it looks.
But I need a pace for my closers. If speed is really holding at Del Mar, this may not work out, but I'm ready to bet Hit Show and hope for a pace collapse.
