Hopefully They Have Hockey In Jail, Because This Beer League Hockey Player Might Need To Find A New Team
For some reason it seems as if hockey rinks are treated like international waters. As if the laws of society just don't exist as long as you're skating around on a sheet of ice playing in what appears to at least be a loosely organized game. The team in red appears to have it together a decent amount, but the blue team is all over the board. There are 5 guys on the ice and there are at least 4 different jerseys. Maybe they just couldn't get the funds together for a full jersey order, or maybe they have a bunch of subs playing for them that night. But either way, I'd label this is a loosely organized hockey game. It's the C Division.
If you go anywhere else in America and slash somebody in the back of the head with a hockey stick, you're cuffed up in the back of a cop car and you're heading straight to jail. That's assault, brotha. It doesn't matter if they're wearing a helmet or not, your ass is going to be sitting in a court room waiting to be arraigned.
For the most part, pulling this shit in an ice rink just ends up with receiving a lifetime ban from that rink. But this fella right here may have managed to cross the line so blatantly that his penalty box will be behind bars.
Now a couple of things here. 1) This guy's body language tells the whole story.

You can tell how fed up he is with that mutant. He's not defending him anymore. It's probably something new every week with that guy, and he'd sick of it. "There goes Dougie being a total piece of shit again". He's not getting in the mix. He's just pissed off this is going to delay the game and make him get home even later that night.
2) All things considered, the move to just rocket launcher the stick after the slash was incredible.

That's a guy who has gotten kicked out of so many hockey games before in his life that he has a signature move when leaving the ice.
There just comes a time in everyone's hockey playing career when you realize maybe it's time to hang up the skates for good. Maybe your body can't hold up. Maybe your skills have just completely diminished. Or maybe you decide to commit an assault because you thought you were getting called for a penalty when really the ref just put him arm up for a delayed icing. Once you reach any of those scenarios, maybe you should take a break from getting out on the ice every Tuesday night at 10pm.
